I get way more of my daily protein from shakes than I care to admit. So I`ve been eating egg whites before bed. But since it`s the last meal before bed and I`m usually tired, I just don`t have the motivation to cook them before bed on the spot. So I`ve been reheating egg whites lately.

Anyone else notice the problem of having chronic gas from eating reheating egg whites? I started with the whole carton which equals 16 whites and toned it down to around 10 but it`s just as bad.

Bit out of your problem but, I always make sure I have a shake my last meal so I don't have to eat or make anything before bed, because I'm the same, tired and lazy, just want to skip it.

cottage cheese, right out of the jar. And i think you can just microwave raw eggs/egg whites.. just put in a bowl an nuke em... quick and easy..

I just drink mine. add some flavouring (metamucil) or some flavoured whey.

Over cooking man...i read somewhere that eggs continue to cook because of the increased temperature even after you take them out of the frying pan or microwave. Since youve already cooked them and are now re heating (re cooking) i can imagine they are over cooked

I think i may just need to leave them a little undercooked as I when I reheat them they cook up again. I wish I could drink that stuff. It`s the absolute most potent formula I know of to have constant gas for about 8-10 hours straight while farting on a 60 second basis.

I would seriously vommit if I ate cottage cheese. I hate cheese, the smell of that crap, and especially when people eat it around me.

I get an upset stomach from re-heating cooked whites. Just drink it if you can take it. I usually get cottage cheese tho lol - Dairyland is the best brand IMO

As I said, the gas from drinking them is far worse than from eating them re heated!

Mix them in a shake. Keep some frozen bananas is the freezer add a bit of milk, whey and your egg whites.

OH ya my fart smells so ****en bad when i eat egg whites.. it'll knock you out if you get too close lol..

If you are getting gas from a meal, especially one with so high of protein, it's because theres too much protein for your stomach to handle at once. If theres too much to digest at once, your stomach bacteria will begin feeding on the leftovers more than usual. Protein gets eaten by nitrogen fixing bacteria in the gut and they in turn make gas out of the rest (ie methane). So that means the extra protein is going to waste, not feeding you, instead overfeeding resident bacteria in your gut. Eat less egg whites before bed.

Nonsense. I already said I`ve lowered it down to 10. You`re telling my I can`t digest 30 grams of protein? I`d say it`s more because of overcooking.

yes, there may be a little more than 30 g in your serving. Besides, not everyone can digest 30 g of protein. Cooking protein denatures it into smaller units, which would actually aid in digestion, so I doubt overcooking is the problem. But who knows...

No cottage cheese come on man!!!That stuffs awesome. When i first started bb i thought that shit looks like puke ill never ever ever eat it. After a couple months i look forward to it. Dont look at it just try it. Its looks disgusting i agree buts its like yogurt its good shit.

But does it taste like cheese? I heard mixing it with chocolate protein tastes good. I may give it a try.

I drink a liter of egg whites a day (32), and I get zero gas. For me, once I eat something for a long enough time my body adapts to it.

I have four egg white shakes a day consisting of:

8 egg whites
50g dry cottage cheese
1/2 scoop chocolate whey

I add a whole egg in there if I need more calories.

Tastes pretty decent actually.

If your having too many shakes why not replace a shake during the day with a meal and have a shake at night... Makes a little more sense then forcing yourself to eat something you dont want to eat

Usually I just don`t feel like the whole meal during the day. But then because of all the shakes I get hungry for the pre bed meal.

That sounds disgusting, lol... Plus I gotta have ketchup on them. Cold eggs and cold ketchup, yuk! But thanks for your help. Maybe someone else with this problem will be able to use that advice.
