I use the same. I don't know if its the best out there or not, but it seems to work just fine.

NOD 32 is one of the best with little effect on system resources. Kaspersky is also very good but when I used it it really slowed my comp down. Apparently they fixed that issue though. If funds are an issue you can find cracks if you look around.

Free.....
A combo of AVG and Malwarebytes

BTW. Norton is the biggest piece of crap out there.

kaspersky, I haven't really noticed a slow down in performance from my computer. I'll see if i can find my KEY for it. Then all you'll have to do is download the trial version and at the end of that put the key in i have. Its for 3 users/computers....Problem now is I have to find it.

If they did, I still didn't notice. I went from Kasperky 7 to 2010 and it did bog done my IE. It takes about 10 -15 seconds for a new browser to open. It's really annoying. Aparently people prefer 2009 to 2010 for that reason.

how can you tell if one anti-virus works better than another? why is NOD32 better than avg?

All I know is Kaspersky is better than Trend Micro. When my subscription ended, I tried Kaspersky 7, (this was just before 2009 came out) it had caught 4 virus and even a Trojan program that Trend Micro didn't catch. And I do update and do full scans regularly.

There's several different independent testers that publish results. Kaspersky, NOD32 and Bitdefender usually come out on top. I've used them all and NOD32 is the easiest on system resources. Doesn't slow anything down, at all. :)

Just recently renewed my Kaspersky and updated it to the 2010 version and it sucks. Had a bunch of blue screens and comp freezes doing the simplest task. Last night I uninstalled it and reverted back to the 2009 version. Hopefully they will fix all the bugs soon or I'm switching to NOD32.

nod32 useless system resources, therefor not bogging down your pc

Kaspersky is the best software. It is better software than all other antivirus (http://www.iyogi.ca/virus-removal-support/kaspersky-anti-virus-support.html) software. It has an amazing track record for virus detection without slowing the system.

NOD32 for me, didn't notice any difference in performance at all!
