every amino acid powder I `ve ever used tastes bad. Some have flavoring but the $$$ difference is huge. Never used their glutamine as I think it`s a completely worthless supp so I can`t comment on that. About the chunks in the tauring. What`s the big deal, just break them up with a knife or something. I often ofter powders by the kilo and this often happens. Dosen`t mean it`s no good.

As far as I know ultimate is a solid company.

Stuff is crap. Why don`t you just eat half a deep and delicious Mc Cain cake and have a protein drink? Same shit. That stuff is loaded with sugar. C`mon dude, you should know better.

Just reminded myself of the horse power pre workout supp they had. Tasted horrible, no way anybody would buy that again. Me, I just don`t buy products with blends anymore... I buy the key ingredients and make my custom shit. Stuff like gainers or the iso gainer are good. But how much does that cost you a month to use 3 portions a day? It would be insane. And why is it better than a shake you make with whey, oats, yogurt and peanut butter? Or something in the like?

Good to ear that some people actually understand that proprietary blend is crap most of time.

+ 1 too for shake with whey, oats and peanut butter. Gainer IS crap, and got bad quality protein and bad quality carb so ppl should do as you told.

If what you are buying is PURE L-GLUTAMINE in powdered form it should have virtually no taste at all, be as white as snow, and disolve instantly in water (like a high quality isolate whey should).

If your glutamine doesnt display these qualities, its not the pure, micronized form that you are paying for. Lots of companies use cheaper peptide versions of glutamine and call it pure, micronized L-Glutamine.

I can mix a tablespoon of my house brand glutamine with the tiniest bit of water, barely taste anything at all, and it mixes very easily.

Buyer beware.

I agree Muscle Juice 2544 is loaded with sugar, BUT most other weight gainers that have less sugar are loaded with artificial sweeteners.... is it not better to stomach the 'natural' sugar that MJ has as opposed to the artificial sweeteners that the majority of other weight gainers have?

Muscle Juice is a weight gainer that i can finally stomach.... and i've tried lots.... I take 8 scoops a day along with 3-4 meals, 2 - when i wake up, 2 - 30 min pre workout, 2 - 30 min post workout , and 2 before bed..... i'm finally putting on weight (albeit not much) but i am still lean and healthy!!!

I guess what i'm asking is what's a better brand name weight gainer...One loaded with 'sugar' or a gainer with 53g of sugar less but loaded with Artificial sweeteners? and yes i know sugar = empty calories and artificial sweeteners = no calories!

I really liked the taste of the Ultimate Nutrition Prostar chocolate and the strawberry. It was only 120 calories per serving too. I haven't found a protein powder that tasted as good yet.

Still, with places like truesupplements that offer blends of 50% iso and 50% concentrate for cheaper (only $35 for 5lbs!) buying prostar dosen`t seem like a good deal to me no matter how you slice it.

I never like Ultimate, as posted their powders are really grainy and just seem 'cheap' but I guess what you pay for. So many sponsors here sell similar products of better quality at the same pricepoint so I see no reason to buy anything from Ultimate these days.

I agree, their BCAA powder is brutal! Although any "pure" BCAA powder doesn't taste very good. I just put it all into caps and swallow 4 with my NO mix pre-workout and 4 with my grape juice, creatine and glutamine mix post-workout. No more bitter taste, just the sandy crea-gluta mix at the bottom of my cup.. (also from Ultimate... =)

Problem with this gainer for most, is its mostly WPC 34.. so boatloads of lactose.. leaving the user bloated to hell... You can tell as first ingredient is protein on ingredient deck.. yet its 155g carbs to 55g protein... not saying might not be good for you, but that's why other users are not happy with it..
