So I finish my tub of Dymatize Xpand and didn't do much for me. I was going the go back to Superpump 250 but the guy in the store side I have to try the Xpand Xtreme Pump, so..sure give it a try.

Holly crap, and I mean crap. You think Superpump cleans you out...it have nothing on this stuff. I would say 5 mins after you drink it you start to feel your skin tingle, almost like a niacin rush , if you have every dosed a lot of niacin. In about 15mins everything in your bowels is liquidized and on its way out. This pretty much last for about 3 hours.

As far as the pumps go-4. Energy-6 Taste-3

Would I buy again, probably not

I made the mistake of taking two scoops of this stuff which tends to be the norm for me and most NO supps. BIG MISTAKE. If I wasn't squatting under the bar I was squatting on the toilet. Total unforgiving mud butt. Add to that the Beta-Alanine tingle as Mikey described and I was one prickly shit tornado. I liked the pump though. LOL!

Funny, this is my favourite pre-workout drink to date.

10 mins after drinking it I do have to use the can (just like every other pre-workout drink) but it's still a solid shit, just a nice quick clean before my workout!

I actually notice a stregth and energy boost with this one, unlike every other one I've tried that usually crashes out half way through my workout.

The sweet spot for me is 1.5 scoops. Good pump, slight dump.

I am using Monster Pump from Cytosport and I find it to be the best one so far.

wouldnt the caffeine in all of the above raise cortisol levels making it bad for muscle and good for putting on fat?

I just tried out a sample 2 days ago on my leg day. Didn't make me run for the bathroom at all guess I'm lucky but had some wicked vascularity from it.

This has been my #1 concern with these drinks.... since they don't disclose the actual amount of caffeine that's in them, I fear there's a lot.

In any case, since starting it I've been dropping fat and gaining muscle (in addition to my diet change). Strength is going up, so whatever is happening, it ain't bad.

People are so overthinking this. I`m pretty sure if you don`t surpass 600mg of caffeine a day, you`ll be fine.

Think of it this way. Even if it did raise cortisol... Think of the benefits. You get increased energy, reduced appetite, increased mood. There are lots of benefits and they far outweigh the so said increase in cortisol downfall. I think your worrying about this very fact is increasing your cortisol more than caffeine itself! At one point everybody on t-nation was affraid to take caffeine because they were affraid it would spike their insuling levels. What a pussy like mentality.

I think stuff like caffeine and ephedrine are cheap and supp companies make more money selling their fat burner blends that will run you at least $50 a month. So they like to scare you with all this cortisol bullshit. Palumbo comes to mind here.

And even it there were actual proof of caffeine raising cortisol to levels of which hinder muscle gains... Do you know how hard it is to kick that stuff? You have basically no chance. Plus if you cycle stuff like ephdrine once and a while you will add caffeine and the constant using and having to stop caffeine will drive you insane. May as well just stay on it to avoid the ups and downs.
