Just got this in my e-mail:
We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a court injunction and therefore are the sanctioning body in Ontario and our Natural Ontario's coming up this weekend is the qualifier for the Natural Canada's.
More information will follow soon.
Yours sincerely,
OPA Executive

i knew it would happen in a matter of time, didn't know it would be so soon...I may just consider doing the ottawa show again! Although, it's still not 100% clear if this court session was only to determine if the natural ontarios would qualify you for nationals, OR if the OPA is reinstated. Thinking about it more, perhaps there is still much work to get reinstated

You can be sure this little feud hasn't magically gone away. I see the wrangling does anyone actually understand the issues?

Confusing to say the least. Hopefully someone will clear the air to state exactly what is going on. What happens to cbbf-on in the meantime too?

Got the Email also...looks like the injunction is good for ten days so that the natural ontarios this weekend will qualify you for the natural nationals....the rest of the shows this fall and the future is still tied up in court for now. Interesting battle for power.

I am sure there will be updates, but we'll have to all wait and see.

This is hurting the athlettes more then anything cause no one knows what to do. It would be nice if they could get this shit cleared up as people diet for 20-12 weeks not to mention kill themselves at the gym.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – September 21, 2009
A further court proceeding was held in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Monday, September 21, 2009. By Court Order all further shows organized by the Ontario Physique Association in 2009 are legally recognized as CBBF and IFBB sanctioned events.
The following competitions are sanctioned as qualifiers to the CBBF and IFBB system:
2nd Annual Woodstock Classic – Saturday, October 3, 2009
2009 Ottawa and Eastern Ontario Physique Championships – Saturday, November 7, 2009
London and Western Ontario Championships – Saturday, November 21, 2009
The Ontario Physique Association is pleased with the Judge’s ruling and encourages our athletes to participate in the above sanctioned events.
We would like to thank everyone for their support of the Natural Ontario’s held in Hamilton this past weekend and congratulate all those who qualified to the Natural Canada’s to be held in Montreal next year.
Since June 21, 2009, our focus has been to right the wrong done to the OPA and we have worked tirelessly to achieve our goal. As we move forward the OPA team will once again focus our direction to our bodybuilding, fitness, figure and bikini family.
The unfortunate circumstance of June 21, 2009 has caused much confusion in our family circle but in spite of that our passion for the sport has not been shaken i.e. working together for the good of bodybuilding, fitness, figure and bikini. Now, we can move forward, to heal the wounds and repair the damage caused on that day, and we firmly believe, that we will emerge a much stronger and improved
Association.

To me this guy is selfish. This should be about donating your time to helping the athletes, not about control and power. If your not wanted take a hint and move on... but no his ego is far too big.

I have no opinion on this as I don't understand the issues. What I am happy to see is that competitors now have some clarity on their dates through november.

time for you to meet the president of the cbbf then, if u think ron hache is selfish and wants power.
i am also surprised the CBBF has money to get a lawyer to fight this. I recall a few years back when a athlete in BC, was tested and failed. He turned around and got a lawyer and fought the test, and the CBBF folded like a stack of cards. Needless to say he failed the test and was re-instated and allowed to compete elsewhere.

Yeah but it is kind of late. I was thinking of doing a show in November before Junes Ontario`s but decided not to do the prep as I didn`t think the level 2 would count for anything. Turns out now it would qualify me for Ontario`s next year. I hope all this can be worked out before next year’s contest season also gets messed up. Is there not suppose to be some kind of election to let the athlete`s choose the leadership?

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – September 30, 2009
The Ontario Physique Association, is the only official sanctioning body, in Ontario, to the CBBF and the IFBB.
Dear members: We are now moving forward as an Association with a new mandate and goals that will benefit the entire Bodybuilding, Figure, Fitness and Bikini Community. We will be announcing next year's Schedule this Fall with new contests added to our site. Numerous first-time volunteers are coming forward and we are always looking for more, so please, do not hesitate to contact us.
Tell us about your background and experience and let us know what role you would like to play within the OPA family. We encourage you all to participate in the remaining Fall contests either by competing, attending or spreading the word to your family and friends.
We are continuing the process of strengthening the Association and clearing up all the confusion and distrust caused over the last four months.
First, I will confirm that the OPA site is the only site, where you will find legitimate facts, on the future of our sport in Ontario and Canada, and, which has the full support of our Executive and Board of Directors.
Secondly, if you review all the information that has been documented on our site, you will see that we have followed through on everything we have stated.
Furthermore, as stated on our site in the past, we do not condone or approve or encourage, any statements or actions on FaceBook or other sites, which may cause any harm or may be considered slanderous to any individual.
There was confusion, with the running of two contests in Hamilton and Mississauga. Therefore, the following will clarify the OPA position on who is qualified to the Natural Canada's in Montreal in 2010. All competitors who are OPA members for 2009 and competed in the Natural Ontario's in Hamilton September 19/2009: the top 5 are qualified. All competitors who are OPA members for 2009 and competed in the Natural Eastern Canadian in Mississauga, September 26, 2009: the top 5 are qualified.
As stated before, we are entering a new phase in Ontario and we encourage those who were led astray to join us. We all have the same goal in common -- the continued growth of our sport in Ontario, and ultimately, across Canada.
Ron Hache
President, Ontario Physique Association
