This thread will be great for people to read over and see individual reports on supplements people have used. Please report a supplement you KNOW has worked or not. That is, you added it alone, and took it away, and can report the difference. Only 1 supplement per post please! I've seen this thread done elsewhere and it was very informative. For example, I'll start :

Creatine - I've used creapure creatine monohydrate on and off for a while. I find the it is one of the best REAL supplements that you can see a difference with. I routinely add strength and muscle with it, and the effects are felt fairly quickly. The down sides of creatine (especially cheap stuff) is stomach discomfort, diarhea, and water retention. A person can suffer from all or none of these. Most likely everyone will take on at least a little water. I dosed it at 5 grams a day.

Pretty straight forward. We will prolly see all the basics here (glutamine, efa's etc) but i'd like to see some good reports of things like CLA, GABA, and all the other exotic stuff. Stims are welcome too.

Glutamine : glutamine is the most abundant amino in the body, and is used in many ways. Research has shown that intense workouts deplete glutamine more than normal. Supplementing glutamine helps recovery, immune response etc. I can say that using glutamine has helped me push harder with getting hurt and run down so easily. Real science backs this up, not some stupid add that the company made.

Beta-Alanine, it is basically an endurance product and works very well when stacked with creatine. Its primary function is to act as a lactic acid buffer in your muscles. I am using this right now in my cutting cycle and it works very well especially for those long cardio sessions. Gives you a nice little tingly feeling throughout your body after taking a couple grams :)

Ephedrine, a slightly lesser potent member of the amphetamine family. It works by stimulating the beta-3 receptors in your body which increases the release of epinephrine which in turn induces lipolysis and increases CNS stimulation. This stuff is rocket fuel to me especially when stacked with caffeine, it noticeably increases mental alertness and if you are in the state of mind, agression, which makes it a good supplement for pre-workout. Also the potent other part in the ECA stack which is amazing for fat loss.

Oh yeah! ECA is awseome, if you can handle the jitters. I really enjoy using BCCA's before, during and after workout. 10gr before, 20 during, 10gr immediately after. It keeps me energized during the workout. I don't get that "tired" feeling half way through my routine.

Caffeine : I am hyper sensitive to stims, so caffeine is really effective for me. It keeps me energized for at least an hour. I only have to use about 100mg for this, however people routinely use more. Good stuff so far, keep em' comin!

Melatonin, this stuff is great for ensuring you get enough shut-eye in order to gain the muscle you rightfully deserve. I use this stuff if I take my ECA too late :) or whenever you wish to get a few hours of extra sleep by going to bed early but are not tired enough to fall asleep. This chemical is actually produced in the pineal gland in your brain as the primary sleep inducing compound and has been scientifically tested to prove it does its job. Just dont take while driving especially at night...as if you are a sensitive individual such as myself you will be wondering why you are upside down in a ditch in no time.

gaba: It helps me sleep, but have noticed from using it off and on, when I stop it, for a few days, I just feel moody and off. I`m not sure I`m going to use it anymore.

Glutamine: My all time most hated supp. I hate it because it is still hyped ( no thanks to a certain member in this thread, LOL!!! ) but the studies showing it works as I know do not concern bodybuilders. Some type of hospital setting hooking you up to an i.v. is not like throwing glutamine down the hatchet and expecting the same results... But hey, if it works for you that`s cool.

CLA: Here`s supp I haven`t tried but obviously is a failure. Every time I read something on this supp the conclusion is always the same and goes like this " clearly we need more time to see if this supp works..." Really how much more time do you need? It`s only been out for more than a decade. Geez. I think it`s just some supp the companies market because it must be profitable for them to do so.

Honestly if you can`t get big of creatine and protein, you need to find another hobby.

lol hands down most effective supp so far on this thread

Anadrol, great for promotion of hair loss(who the hell needs it anyway), making your prostate the size of an orange, and getting rid of that pesky liver once and for all.

Sleep when your dead
haha, well, i'd rather fall asleep fast than roll around and have a shitty sleep.
That and my body needs the recovery time. It wouldn't if I wasn't doing hard physical labor carrying around steel all day and welding it!

LOL thats a shot at me huh.... I can't say glutamine made all the difference in the world, only that it gets depleted. I throw it in cause my diet is a little of sometimes. Although i would agree... creatine and protien are number 1 and 2.

NO Xplode - Although i doubt very much that this product builds much muscle, it does give me a good boost for an agressive 1-1.5 hours at the gym. Expensive tho, and caffeine is almost as effective alone. I am a one scooper, its all i need. 2 and im shaking like a leaf lol
