It all starts to sound the same after a while of reading, there is no replacement for time spent in the gym learning what works for your body. I might be going out on a limb here, but if you've been training for more than a few years, you shouldnt need books anymore.

I had the encyclopedia. Like every other book I `ve ever lent to somebody, I never got it back. It`s cool for the history and the pic describing exercises. Lot`s of oldschool pics. It`s nice to have, but the training and especially nutrition advice is just no good. Training 6 times a week, twice a day for 2 hours each time... I just don`t know how he did it.

The best book I ever had (notice had, never got it back) was the P.O.F. book. Positions of Flexion... It basically advocates doing 3 exercises per bodypart, 2 sets each. High intensity style. One compound movement done first to push max weight, next is a stetching movement, the a peak contraction movement. I grew fast using this method and is still the backbone of how I train today. Volume just dosen`t work for me.

I read the original Arnold book and the modern versions, just good for pics, that is about it.

Oh yah, for just reading, not really learning exercises and diets, try reading Flex Wheeler's book Flexability, it was pretty good.

all of lyle mcdonalds books are great if your actually interested in some of the physiology behind diet/fat loss. Especially the "stubborn fat solution"

I also liked the P.O.F. book by Steve Holman, very good book imo

there are two other books i also like Serious Strength Training by Tudor Bompa and Sliced by Negrita Jayde( a really good book about competition dieting)

I have the Arnold Encyclopedia. I like it because it's THE book that every bodybuilder has to own.

I read Dave Draper's book "Brother Iron, Sister Steel" and it was more informative. I might eventually buy it.
