Hello CBB!!

I was going to post an intro, but I figured I'd have more feedback on my progress in this section.

I've been following the Canadian Forums since CJM and Nexus via my big bro (and trainer) kibrood (he's not a big poster, but reads through the site quite often). I was a fat IT consultant until kibrood took a snap shot of me (see pic) and I realised who badly I let myself slip. I was shocked and decided enough was enough and began to turn things around.

I went from 201 at 33% in that first pic to 156 at approx 12% in pic #2. I was more concerned about weight VS BF% at the time despite my brother's advice, so i'm sure I could have added a little more muscle to my frame had I listened. That weight loss took approx. 9 months - I started slow since it was a complete lifestyle change and I'm stubborn, but picked up as I became a little obsessive. :)

At 156 I decided I looked too skinny so it was time to put on some size. That journey was a long learning experience - the time frame between pic 2 and pic 3 is about 5 years. I did the traditional bulk, cut, repeat. Of course looking back I realize that my bulk was a well disguised excuse to eat crappy and that the phrase, "Bro you're looking thick!" really means you have muscle, but there's a thick layer of fat on top. I also discovered that when you're "thick" the only people giving you compliments are other guys. LOL!

The 3rd pic is from 3 weeks ago and I've continued to lean out. My goals are to get to approx. 10%, but I'm more concerned on asthetics VS numbers. I never directly worked abs in 2 years because of a low back injury, so as you can see I'm soft through the middle. That same injury caused me pain doing legs, so I haven't done a true leg workout in over a year. My legs grow quickly, so I'm not too concerned. I will post leg pics to record my progress.

I am considering doing a competition, so I would appreciate any feedback. I have to post better pics for a true critique, but do you guys/gals think I have a good base to work from? I've never competed before, so I have no clue.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Looking solid bro, most of the time abs will show as long as bf is low, Everyones got a 6 pack, just work on getting your bf lower and they should pop out.

great transformation man. i think you sound like a very meticulous and dedicated person once you set a goal so a competition would be a great idea for you. its funny your legs dont look bad at all from that pic , i wish mine looked like that after not training for a year haha. welcome ot the board

jacked up bro!!!

for your abs, look into doing Vaccum's every day, 20 sec holds x 3.... you'll notice the difference in 2 weeks, no need for those pesky crunches :)

It would be in your best interest to hire someone to do your diet/contest prep for ya for your first show...itd make things a lot easier. we have some guys on this board who do contest prep online for clients...there are lots of others too

Someone asked about legs, so here goes. After over a year of not really training my legs (the odd set or two of leg press since it didn't hurt my back) they still have some meat on them. I've started squatting again last week with just quarters on the bar - no pain in low back, but man am I de-conditioned.

I'll post progress pics in a few weeks...with much better underwear. LOL!

I'll have to get a better angled shot (this is a little too high angled). It looks like I have the tibia length of a pigmy hippo. :)
