Xtreme Couture is opening up a new facility in Toronto. It is in the West end Kipling and QEW area, 33000 sq/ft. I heard they will be offering pre-opening rates to sign up early starting Jan 18th. It looks like top notch instructors as well.

From MMA Weekly.

The first Canadian Xtreme Couture training facility will open in Toronto within the next couple of months. The 33,000-square-foot mixed martial arts training facility is the first of its kind in the country.

The fitness center will be located in Etobicoke, Ontario and will house instructors that have fought in some of the most prominent organizations including Ultimate Fighting Championship, International Fight League, King Of The Cage and Freedom Fight. Disciplines that will be taught at this location include: Muay Thai kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wresting, Judo, Submission Grappling, and Traditional Boxing.

“This will be the first of four locations that we plan to open across Canada,” said Doug Urch, owner of the Xtreme Couture Gym. “Regardless of whether you’re a professional or a beginner, we have a number of classes geared to men, women and children.”

The facility will be modeled after Randy Couture’s gym in Las Vegas. The state of the art training equipment, boxing ring and full size professional octagon will be second to none.

The Toronto branch of Xtreme Couture Canada includes the following professional instructors:

Brent Beauparlant – MMA/Wrestling Instructor
Chris Horodecki – MMA/Muay Thai Instructor
Mark Hominick – MMA/Muay Thai Instructor
Jeff Joslin – MMA/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
Shawn Geris – Freestyle/Greco Roman Wrestling Instructor
Dave Mair – Freestyle Wrestling Instructor
Yuri Botnarenko – Greco Roman Wrestling Instructor
Marco Antico – Muay Thai Instructor
Mish Cirkunov – Judo Instructor
Patrick Goulah – Traditional Jiu Jitsu Instructor

As the facilities grow look for more instructors to be added

Xtreme Couture will open its doors in Toronto in late February or early March, according to Shawn Geris, spokesman for the Canadian-based branch of UFC hall-of-fame fighter Randy Couture’s training centers.

The 33,000-square-foot gym will feature a full-sized Octagon and boxing ring modeled after Couture’s flagship facility in Las Vegas. Additionally, the Kipling Avenue location will offer a complete fitness training center, including weight training and cardio equipment.

Geris, a standout freestyle and Greco Roman wrestler employed as a Toronto police officer, will teach at the first of four facilities planned for Ontario. London is one of the other locations being considered in the Greater Toronto Area.

Joining Geris as trainers will be International Fight League veterans Brent Beauparlant (MMA/wrestling) and Chris Horodecki (MMA/Muay Thai), as well as UFC veterans Mark Hominick (MMA/Muay Thai) and Jeff Joslin (MMA/Brazilian jiu-jitsu). Additionally, the training center will offer Judo instruction from North American Abu Dhabi light heavyweight trials champion Misha Cirkunov. More high-profile instructors are expected.

“We have a few more [coaching] names to add to that list but we can’t announce them just yet,” said Geris.

Brothers Doug and Robert Urch, who have previous experience in the fitness club industry, are co-owners of the facility. The gym, which will offer classes for men, women, and children, will also house the Canadian branch of Team Couture. Couture and Canadian-born Shawn Tompkins, who serves as head striking coach for the Las Vegas facility, are expected to visit the branch six to eight times a year.

“We really wanted to build a team of great trainers, as well as great fighters who will fight under the Team Couture banner,” said Geris. “You’re going to see a lot of our guys traveling up there to train at Randy’s gym and a lot of their guys coming here to train. We are going to have the best team in Canada for sure at Xtreme Couture.”

It will probably be far to expensive t make it worthwhile to train there unless you are going to make MMA your career.

Still, hell of a place.

BUt it isnt really canadas first facility like that, it sounds similar to Lance Gibson's club out in Van (Port Moody i think, not even sure its still openthough to be honest)

not sure about this new place but Couture vegas is $100/month on a year contract. that is a reasonable price. unless you train with randy...that's $1000/hr.
pretty sure Gibson's is still open, was last year anyway. it would def be 'like' xtreme couture but i dont know if it would be on par.
there are 2 revolution clubs(kaleb starnes) in the lower mainland too, very well equiped.
