Wow! That's one strong lady. I'd like to show that vid to all the tapout wearing, cell phone talking, weird hat donning, poser wannabes, as a genuine representation of commitment and hard work.

I worked out with a pro 6 months ago or so, and he insisted I do suicide grip. I was uncomfortable with suicide grip on the barbell bench press, but did it anyways. Didnt go heavier then 315, but I felt a noticeable difference. I often WO alone though, so will not try that with out a spotter. It never occurred to me to do it with dumbbel press......
Will hit that up next WO

Using an open grip does nothing to rotate the shoulder joint...its also a very bad idea when bench pressing or using dumbbells for that matter. In order to press in the correct matter you want as little shoulder rotation as possible...thus you need a decent back arch, you need to be up high on yur traps on the bench and you need to tuck the elbows in on the way down and flare only about midpoint on the way up. There is never a good reason to use a thumbless grip.

I was told that it increases bench due to the more efficient load transfer to forearm caused my the bar being more centered over the wrist.

Still though, I can never get this out of my mind:
