Thats not true... i've done it many times, think about all the pre mixed protein drinks you buy.

you got a point but the pre mixed you buy are loaded with preservatives to keep them fresh.
Exactly.
It will dimish.
My personal opinion would be that 3 hours would be pushing it. I mean it won't be a total waste, but I think around the 2-3hr mark it would start to break down

No what you do bro ive had the same problem. I tried premixing and it always worked like shit. So put your protein powder in a shaker. Close it up and bring a cold bottle of water with you. When your ready to go pour the water in shake and volia. If you dont mix with water you should start. (milk is for babies anyway...arnold). Plus milk shouldnt be left out for 3 hours than drank..
I do that after the gym... when it's 30+ out, it really sucks having that warm shake PWO lol.
Do it when I go to the beach too. Oatmeal and protein in a shaker cup, and bring a water bottle. So convenient.

If your talking whey or casien they are going to be fine for alot more than a few hours. Think about where the protein comes from. Milk stays good for a long time in the fridge and so will you milk proteins.
Keyword FRIDGE. And the fridge doesn't even help much.
Don't believe me, mix a shake, let it sit for six hours even, and smell it. Not sure where the source of this is, but:
Q. Why should I mix protein into a drink and consume it immediately?
Immediately does not mean instantly. However, drinking within 30 minutes of mixing is smart since pure protein in the liquid form is an extremely fertile environment for airborne bacteria growth. Leaving a protein drink (reconstituted from powder) in a refrigerator for two hours is probably okay, but not overnight.
There is no harm to pre-mixing, I do it daily.

Just don`t make a shake in the blender with a banana in it. I tried this once and when it came time to drink the shake, the banana was rotten.

I got a friend who premixes shakes and puts the flax oil in them as well. Disgusting. Flax needs to be kept cold and tastes nasty as it is. Drinking it warm sickens my stomach just thinking about it...
On Keto diet I would have whey and 3tbsp of olive oil in it. Actually not bad, made it kind of chewy lol.

i drank my pre mixed shake today for the first time about 2-3 hour after mixing it and IMO it tasted better than when you mix them and drink them right away.
