does anyone else have to deal with this shit?

i keep getting these things on my stomach and sometimes on my quads. its like a really really bad zit. basically its anti biotic resistant staph infection.

and its been hitting me really hard the last few months and keeps coming back. its demoralizing and painful.

i used special anti biotics to get rid of it last time but it's back again. the doctor says it could be from roids opening up my pours? funny thing is ive been on much heavier cycles in the past without ever having this issue. i am taking slin post workout, is there any way that would cause it?

i shower twice a day with tea tree soap so i dont understand how i can be getting this. now im getting more aggressive, tea tree soap, then i splash rubbing alcohol all over my skin then once that dries i put on tea tree oil ointment.

i really dont know what else to do besides get a new matress.

maybe im getting it now because i stopped tanning?

damn i wish 9* still made that antibiotic cream stuff, i would buy like 10 of them if it worked.

the harder i train the more i get them. shit sucks.

anyone have any ideas?

Is your Doc a Dermatologist? I had a situation several years ago. I was placed on antibiotics and antihistamines. I went to the Doc several times.
Each time he had some reason for it not improving. It wasn't until severe edema set in that the Doc decided get me a emergency appointment with a Derm. The Derm basically said the Doc was retarded and had no idea what he was doing. She placed me on some type of cream and heavy antibiotics. Also they took a chunk of my arm in order to confirm what it was.

It is best to see a specialist that is affiliated with a downtown city Hospital. One with lots of exposure to this shit.

I had staph for a year and a half. The very first one I got almost killed me. I didn't even know what it was until later, and found out just how serious it was. I couldn't walk it was so painful, high fever, streaking down my leg... I kept geting the infections in really uncomfortable places, included my underarms... every month-month 1/2 this would happen, though not as severe as the first one.

Just recently had a bad outbreak, was extremely painful (not to mention gross).

I was told by one doctor the only way to effectively treat it is to go on the strong antibiotics that are only available through IV.

You have to get a culture test to have them confirm it's staph. If it is, get admitted to the hospital and hooked up to the IV.

Or if you're in T.O., you can see my naturopath (PM me for details).

My naturopath sent down this stuff, in a dropper... weird shit to say the least, and tasted awful. But it CLEARED me of it completely. It's been months since the last outbreak, and I'm 99% sure it's gone for good.

I can totally relate to how you feel.. it is a very uncomfortable thing to have to deal with on a regular basis. Gotta get rid of it asap!!

You're also going to have to sanitize all of your clothes, beddings, etc

There is something else you can try as well. Some people have had luck with bathing in a diluted amount of bleach. Sounds freaky, but it works. I'm not sure on the amount though, so you'd wanna look into it further to find out how much to use.

ya man, i was on the IV for 3 days. it just comes back tho.

im done with antibiotics. it's not a good or permanent solution IMO. our overuse of antibiotics is the reason this shit exists in the first place.

i read that taking tumerick can help. so im going to try that.

what is the neuropath stuff or whatever and where can i get it?

I took high amounts of turmeric for months, it didn't seem to help. But it is worth taking regardless, it's an excellent anti-inflammatory. You should also start taking immune supporters, and probiotics.

I found using tea tree oil seemed to inflame the bumps. I switched to a salve that worked a lot better. I'll see if I can find the container and give you the name of it. High quality manuka honey is also a powerful antibaterial. Level 5 and higher. It's a sticky mess though.

The stuff my naturopath gave me is something he's created through his own research. He had a woman come into his office with the same problem. He tried various remedies, which had varied success. He eventually came up with this stuff that works very well.

If you're certain it's MRSA, I think it could very well help.

You'd have to see him though. All naturopaths charge a fee for first time visits though and it isn't cheap. But hopefully it's worth the $$ to you.

If you're in T.O., PM me and I'll send you his info.

It's made by a company called Puremedy, the particular one is the Infection formula. I actually only tested it recently, so I didn't get a chance to try it on the more severe outbreaks.. however, from what I've been using it for it's worked very well.

Try oil of oregano - this shit tastes absolutley terrible but it works for a handful of random ailments. Try a few drops sublingual and use it topically aswell ... its got natural antibiotic effects, anti viral, and anti fungal properties. just my 2 cents

Staph is a bitch. I got it and battled with it on and off for about a year and a half. Sure I picked it up in BJJ class. Took antibiotics and it would go away, having to shower with AB soap to decolonize or some shit. After a month or so, it would come back. I went to my doc 3 times before I demanded he test for staph. He told me it wasnt staph and even laughed when I suggested I had it.

It is pretty common in grappling which is why I was pissed that he didnt believe it could be. After the test, he called me in and could hardly look me in the eyes as he told me I had a staph infection. I said, no shit man, ive had fevers on and off and the shits for 8 months and the abscess or whatever it is that kept flaring up right on my tailbone at the top of my but crack.

I was finially sent to the doctor at the infectious disease center at a local hospital and after telling him the ordeal over the past while, he couldnt believe that my doc didnt suspect staph from the start. He tested after draining a boil/pimple/abscess whatever it was and said this has tested positive for MRSA which wasnt suprising considering I had been taking antibiotics for just over a year on and off.

I had seen people have it much worse than me but after a long run of sulfa based AB I was cleared up.

Be careful bro. Although I am a fan of natural remedies whenever possible, sometimes the unpleasant prescription drug route is the best alternative....staph left untreated by antibiotics can be fatal...keep a very close eye on it.

oh ok. because theres something called Mersa or MRSA that ppl have been getting from hospitals that are like these gross open sore things and its considered a flesh eating bacteria or disease(not sure witch one) that has been going around for a while now. And its highly transferable/contagious(sp).

yes youre not far off. MRSA can easily turn into flesh eatting disease but they arnt the same bacteria. one just leads into the other.

it is gone for the most part, my immune system is taking care of it. still getting some acne but it's not turning into a giant festering painful mess like it was before.

it was the insulin bros, that shit was doing a number on my immune system. i threw it away, never using it again.

and that bactroban ointment stuff works well. seems to also be good for acne also. give it a shot.
