Personally I think you would get burnt out on that real quick. Especially your tri's.

this is good to start with if you want to "get in shape"

but will not help you gain muscle/lbm in the long run

if you start becoming fatigued like SD predicts, move the rest day inbetween, so Day 1 /Rest/ Day 2/ Rest/ Day 1

Well look at it, it's a mirror workout (only cares about the muscles you see in the mirror) This workout has four exercises for arms, and three total for quads and hams. That's a little imbalanced, bi's and tri's are tiny compared to the legs.

Incline press, flat press and flyes for chest, and only lat pulldowns and dumbell rows for the ENTIRE back. That's effed.

One delt exercise. One. Completely ignoring the rear delt. But hey, at least there are 160 reps on abs every cycle.

How advanced are you as a lifter Typerr?

Thanks,

Well I've done 5x5 bill starr's routine
Im currently doing a 5 day split and just wanted to change it up a bit.
Maybe Ill stay with the split and just switch up the exercises a bit.

In terms of lifting, Id say Intermediate.

Ya i agree.. its definately a "bar muscle" program... if you want legs, your legs would need more volume.. needs more back, some side and rear delt work too...if not, its an "ok" program.

The 5x5 program kicks ass. What are you looking to get from this program? I am sure that we can come up with a better program for your goals if you want.

I don't think legs need a lot of volume. As long as you pick the right exercises and do them properly. Although I also don't like the program, but I'm really anal-retentive when it comes to training.

Well it depends on your goals.. i agree and dissagree
For leg strength, you dont need much volume
For leg growth, you need to bust your ass and do lots of volume

If you think youre gonna get nice thick full legs from this:
BB Squat 10, 8, 6
Leg Ext 12, 12 12
Leg Curl 10, 8, 6

Good luck lol

What do you mean by lots of volume? For my last leg day, aside from calf work I did Squats 3 warm up sets, 2 working sets with a short rest in between. Glutes/Hams I did Stiff Leg Deads 2 warm up sets and 1 working set. Also stretching directly afterwards. I find, at least for me that higher frequency works better than higher volume. I am getting better gains now than when I was doing 20 sets combined of squats, leg press, leg ext etc...

I want to gain size, Im relatively happy with strength. Well not really. But, I want to put on some more size. On specifically my legs, but everywhere else would be nice as well.

Weighed myself yesterday 195 @ 5'11". bf% ~13
