That's GREAT!!! Congratulations!
My kid wants to be a Firefighter, she has another year and a half of high school but taking classes which should help her get accepted when she's done
... can you give us a few updates after you start on how things are going for you?...
Blue collar is always a good job... saving lives is GREAT!!

GREAT!! thanks! (I'll remember too... March 2 is my daughter's b-day!!)
the BEST thing about having a kid who wants to go into firefighting is she is quite conscious of staying in shape!! lol (she's about 3 inches taller than me already and runs regularly, which for a 16.5 yr old girl is pretty good... msot of them eat crap all day and do NOTHING!!)

did you need anything special from school to get accepted? like classes? I just LOVE hearing about young people who have a plan!! I'm very proud for you!!:beer

Hey thanks!! well my 16.5 yrs old son lol is looking on getting into it as well and the only prerequisite that we got told is just to have a grade 12 and to be 18 yrs of age and of course be in good physical condition! good for you and your daughter!

.....it is a really great reason besides health reasons etc of course to keep the youngens motivated ;) !!

used to be a MNR firefighter. Fought forest fires in the summer, drank all winter. Some of the guys were hired on to work in Australia during the winter.
