View Full Version : How big is steroid/drug use in Figure?
Figure does not require a lot of muscle, but they do have a fair amount on them for a female. I know a few Can national competitors who haven't used anything, but also know quite a few US competitors that have used.
Lately I really noticed a lot of really big delts on some of the high ranked competitors. Some I'm sure genetics, but I'm sure, similar to guys, when on something, the delts seem to be one of the first bodyparts to 'grow', and makes you wonder. Speaking of which, I know another Can Nat competitor who I'm almost certain was taking something too, and also had the large delts.
Any female competitors have an opinion?

Id say 4 out of 5 use at the higher levels.

If you count things like clen/anavar, then yeah, at least 4/5 of the top national competitors use at least a little. I don't think we'll ever know, but my opinion is that a little goes a long way in women, and that if it can benefit them in the least, then it's likely going to become at least a very tempting option - especially for those with great potential for a pro card.

I'm kinda kept out of the loop... (train at a gym where we sign a waiver that we are natural, and I personally don't have any temptation to use)... but I know a few girls who have had to switch suit bottoms last minute because they developed a "zit" on thier ass cheek and need a thier suit ro cover it (I sew suits as a bit of a hobby) now... gonna go out on a limb here... lol...
Im sure some of those young girls are using... they want to cash in on the "modelling" aspect of the whole thing. Botox, and collogen to keep the face plump, silicone to keep the breasts full and a little steroid to keep the muscles round!!
(Im so ****en natural I had a huge moral dilema with putting some padding in my posing suit top!!... it felt like I was being deceitful)

I thinks it's a personal decision....if you want to stay natty or if you want to indulge. I don't care either way, people have diffrent goals and go diffrent avenues to reach those goals.
On the other hand if your signing a "waiver" to say your natural ...be honest.
Some women just have genetics, muscular and can gain muscle easily :D

Little Leigh (ms Manitoba) is the athletic therapist on site and one of the trainers... It's a pretty different environment.. we only really have 2 bb guys (most don't want to sign the waiver lol) but we have lots of pro athletes... Football players, track stars (college/canada games) Jeff Fisher (former head trainer for the Blue Bombers and one time BB competitor)is CRAZY GOOD!!!...
pretty much one on one type training.. personalized diet and programming, if you get caught gossipping on the bike instead of working you get in shit and asked to leave lol...
I train there for contest... train at city facility off season

I know who does Jenny Lynns contest "supplements" for her and you'd be shocked at what some of these girls use.

Yes there are many that use but I want to emphasize that it can be done without, just not overnight which is what most people want.

A lot will use though claim they never and will deny it to their grave. If they're in it for the money, they will need to outdo the competitor to get the clients, reputation, and endorsements. If one really knows which AAS to take and how to beat the tests, they can get away with an incredible physique that is "natural" under testing.
With that said, I have stated my views on this matter already. If one is going into a natural competiton and it's stated as natural, a competitor should not under any circumstance use AAS to get the edge. That is called cheating.
If one competes in an untested event, it comes down to choice. It's not cheating as the field is fair for everyone. It comes down to if they want to take AAS or not. There are no competitors that are natural that can compete against the likes of Ronnie Coleman, Cutler, Heath, etc... And AAS is not an easy ticket to get big. It still takes a ton of hard work, dedication, diet and consitancy to get to a large and well defined muscular body.
The problem nowadays is the younger generation wanting a quick way to get it fast. They think popping a few pills or doing a few injections will give them a super body. What it does is increase muscle size, recovery and decrease the catabolic effect. How many times I walk into a gym to see a young guy full of zits, bloated to the max and lifting lightweight. It's sad. Women though tend to take weaker AAS like var, winstrol and clen for cutting. They prefer to get that hard chiseled look while retaining femininity. No problems with that. As long as they stick to the competitions that are for their type of training, natural vs non tested.

It use to be that in Female Bodybuilding here in Ontario at the lower level shows (We use to have 4 levels) that most looked natural.
Not now, fbbs in the local level one shows are looking as big as some of the men and discouraging women from even trying bb IMO.

I'm too old to pass a drug test and actually put on significant muscle but my wife would be thrilled if I went to a facility like this. She's not exactly pleased with me.
Nonetheless I think level playing fields and tested offseason training is a great idea for the sport.

Yeah... its a neat place!!
I would just like to say I am not an anti steroid advocate... i just personally don't see it as something I would ever want to do... and at the end of the day, it is all about what you feel comfortable doing with your own body!! I do, however, have ALOT of respect for people who do train Natural and still compete in open (untested) events!! (and equally have a bit of a hate on for people who compete in tested events and are using)
