sooo... Little Leigh is finished her National competition and we survived it... I am pretty sure she will do Nationals again Next year (Saskatoon is so close!! lol) she weighed in lighter than we had hoped... but the good news is, there is alot of muscle she can pound on in a year and STILL be lightweight next year!!
,,, and since her show is in August... it really isnt a stretch to do Provincials next year for me... right? lol
I am already qualified.. but i dont know if I should enter Novice for figures or skip novice all together and concentrate on fitness provincials. the two shows are about 8 weeks apart...
anyone have any comments or suggestions?>

Focus on fitness provincials, but if the shows are 2 months apart, and you wanted to give figure a go, couldn't you do both?

I agree with 69, the contests are so close together might be fun :)

yeah.. I was thinking of training up for figures Novice... mostley because i am REALLY good at training when I have my eyes of the prize... but I tend to lose focus if I can't see a "goal" so I could basically work on physique and run novice as a test run of what my physique will look like at provincial figures... then really focus on maintenance and routine the last few monhs...
I am taking a few classes over the winter to help with the routine too!! yoga and an adult gymnastics class LOL
(oh 69... good luck at the wbbf show!! im sure ill chat you up before then... but I always root for the people I "know" from the computer!! )

What's Figure Novice?
I did 2 shows once that were weeks apart and it wasn't that hard to maintain low bodyfat levels.
It was the ultimate warm up for the higher level, I was more confident and still fresh in the judges minds.

in manitoba novice is like level 1 I think... you have to place top 5 at novice to compete at Provincials... so I can take my figures physique to fitness provincials because I am already qualified to do provincials for the next 2 or 3 years because of my placing this year

What's Figure Novice?
.
With the new CBBF-ON, there are only 2 levels here now. You have to start in Novice, then place top 3 to get to Provincials.

Is this true for Masters and Grand Masters too in Figure, what about Bodybuilding?

OK... I officially threw it out there... and am registered for Womens fitness training classes with a former competitor who is also a gymnastics coach! so hopefully I can learn some new holds and bring my routine up to par with my physique (I scored higher in the physique round than I did in routine.. my idea/theme and stage presence were good but my execution of holds was poor)
8:45-10:15 once a week (to start) starting the end of sept!
ALSO... got intouch with my trainer and have a meeting with him next week!! (I know he'll take me back on!! lol)
AND... I did a few pics in the stupid bikini and heels to compare (going to do it the first of every month) so I can see my progress and stuff, and I notice right off the bat, my legs are looking way better than they did before and I have a bit more size uptop(shoulders)! (and even though i'm not "really" dietting, just eating normal and about 90% clean.. I really don't look "too" buly, just a bit soft in the middle)
SOOO... I am totally pumped! After I meet with fISH (my trainer) I'll decide on weather or not I'll also do novice figures!!
Feels good to have a goal!

Good stuff dryvrgrl, it's good to have a focus:) Do you have a gymnastics background?
Dryvrgrl

Thanks 69!!
I do NOT have any gymnastics background... or dance background (well not formal but I can shake it at the bar as good as any girl!!).. or cheerleading... lol so doing fitness was kinda a stretch. I used to wrestle in the 80's and had a couple good flips, then did novice by watching youtube videos and trying the moves in the living room! so this year I'll be better prepared!
Hey!! your show is comming up soon isn't it?... how are you doing? hows training? are you on target?

HIYA!!!
I just thought id stop nin to give y'all a little update!
sorry for not playing on here more, it's just gotten a little CRAZY!!
I am back into training (weights) about 5 or 6 times a week... cardio every day and my insane abs workout (which I know a bunch of you dont aggree with, but after losing 100 pounds, i guess the abs need a bit of a different workout than "traditional")
Gymnastics class 1X a week right now and a fitness bootcamp ontop of the regular training once a week! working on fitness holds 20 mins a day... so unless i get really good at one handed pushups and use the other for typing... i've had to let some of my internet habit die out a little bit!!
Oh and I am a full time eater! I JUST got off a 4200 calorie a day diet! it was fun!! lol now im "down" to 3800 calories a day... sitting at 12.9% BF and weighing in at a WHOPPING 125 pounds!! (Blew that old 118 out of the water!!)
Im currently a BEEF eating machine! I actually like it now and notice a difference in my mass already after5 weeks! supplementing with protein and l-glutamine, one cheat day a week... and can FINALLY banch quarters for a full flipping set of 10 nreps!!!! (feeling alot stronger)
I feel a little beefy, but next weekend will do an update picture...
Little Leigh is back training too... the flu kicked the shit out of her and she dropped down to 109 pounds... (less than competition weight!) but she's managed to climb back to 120... she's just got Nationals Next year...
ok... there's my little update!!
