Hey so while training i get very thirsty and usually have to go to the fountain every set. So months ago i sed screw this 1 water bottle isnt going to cut it. So i got this nice 4L container with a handle and i sip that throughout my workout. Usually in 1 to 1.5 hours i consume 4L of water while training. Is that too much, to little, and i remember that 2 gallons a day is good to shoot for so thats about 1.1gallons during my workout. SO if i just drink another few litres every other part of the day im good am i right.

You will drink more during training then the rest of the day...staying hydrated while training is essential. I dont see any issues with that amount as long as you are not forcing it. Make sure to replace electrolytes afterwards.
P
4L is not too much by any stretch.

Ok perfect guys thanks. Ya i didnt think it was 2 much becuase dam i get thirsty when i train..really its only like 8 water bottles when you think of it. and im not forcing it im just basicly sipping. What is the max you should take in a day that is sensible. P what should i shoot for as far as water intake. 2g(8L) per day?

dude i would not go above 4L during your workout.. 1.5G per day is more then enough, i read somewhere that some military men died from drinking too much water during their workouts, it was over 5Lt during their workouts.. but still.. more is not always better.. look up water intoxication.

found this
With recent emphasis on increased water intake during exercise for the prevention of dehydration and exertional heat illness, there has been an increase in cases of hyponatremia related to excessive water intake. This article reviews several recent military cases and three deaths that have occurred as a result of overhydration, with resultant hyponatremia and cerebral edema. All of these cases are associated with more than 5 L (usually 10-20 L) of water intake during a period of a few hours. The importance of maintaining adequate hydration in exertional heat illness prevention cannot be overemphasized, but excessive fluid intake may lead to life-threatening hyponatremia. Current guidelines provide safety by limiting fluid intake during times of heavy sweating to 1 to 1.5 L per hour.

I have heard about water intoxication and that is good research. ya 4l per workout is plenty no more than that for me im just going to spread out the other 4l across the day to bout 1l per hour..

you should in general for good health drink half your lean bodyweight in ounces. for bodybuilders woudnl't hurt to add another 1-2 more liters.
remember water in shakes, diet pop, coffee, sugar free juice etc all count as water intake for the day
so for a 200lb lean bodybuilder that would be 100oz or about 3 liters, plus 1-2 more for a total of 4-5daily.

When I train I only drink about 1 water bottle (500ml) in a session, usually lasting 1-1.5 hours. Is that too little? I don't necessarily feel thirsty. I drink a bottle about an hour before, mix my pre-workout in water so thats another 800ml before my workout. Should I try and take in some more during training?

I bring a milk jug full of cold water to the gym when i work out, you wont drink nearly enough water if you rely on the fountains. I find when I stay well hydrated my energy level is better and i dont get that heat soaked feeling. Water = Winner.
