Just want to say how much I respect and admire this exceptional gentleman and athlete.

He is a champion and pro no matter what results. He has come so close to a pro card that one day he will win it. But he has won a lot more already. He is dedicated, tenacious, and gracious whether in victory or defeat. He never stops trying and always is in shape. A class act of which the sport needs more.

Wishing Ron well at North Americans. More power to you, brother.

Ron is a true ambassador to Canadian bodybuilding. Well liked and well known. It would have been great to have called him an IFBB pro. Get it done in 2010 Ron!!!

I think Ron is truly awesome. Echo all the words that Gerry said but I wonder... when enough is enough? To be there that many times and keep missing the mark has to play on one's self confidence. Fouad said if he didn't get his card when he did he likely would have hung it up figuring bodybuilding as a career just wasn't in the cards for him.

How much more does Ron have left in him I wonder?

Woah. He can get it at the North Americans??? I didn't know that. Is there a competitors list and is there a site for that event?

Info at http://www.garyudit.com and click on North Americans.

There are men's pro cards for overall winners of open men, masters men over 40 and masters men over 50. As well as women's pro cards for overall BB winner, overall masters figure, and open figure and bikini.

Last year, Canadian Marc Lavoie won the overall open and 40 masters and went pro!

No competitor's list I could find. Ron will be in a tough class from what I hear, but he can hang with anyone.

I honestly don't understand why he hasn't won yet, as he is not only one of the largest guys out there but he also has decent proportion and is polished like a pro and would do well on the stage. Plus you can see in his face and on all his interactions on the boards that he is friendly and sicere, hence he would be pretty marketable for a supplement or publishing concern.

Not to disrespect anyone who has turned pro over the years, but has well frankly a better chance at doing well in the pro's then most who have gotten their card.

Myeb he will get a better shake at the north americans, just seems like the judges have some sort of issue in the give him top spot every year yet won't give him the enchilada.

That being said a pro card should be given to all class winners, guys and girls alike. They give out figure and now bikini pro cards like a pervert handing out candy from his car every year, hmmmm.

Seems to be based on who they think would make a good pro, problem with the judges is they havent been very good at predicting that part period.

Anyways good luck Ron
