I use black coffee to mix shakes at work, tastes great as long as its chocolate flavored not sure how much I would really want coffee grounds in something I was drinking arent they a lil bit gritty?

i use the magic bullet for it so it grinds it up pretty good, if it was in a shaker i think it would be pretty nasty, with all the chunks and what not

ive been doing it for a long time with my myoplex shakes... i put in about 1/2 to 3/4 of the water the shake recommends, so it comes out thicker.. I put either vanilla or chocolate, with coffee, instant or grinds... add ice cubes till its the consistancy of a iced cap.... taste as good as a tims iced cap if its done right!

K exact recipe
-get out the blender
-use any vanilla, or chocolate protein powder
-use half to 3/4 or the water or milk that the shake recommends ( so its thicker cause you will add ice which will thin it out abit)
-add how ever much instant coffee you want. i use a couple tablespoons
-i throw in a big tablespoon of peanut butter just cause i love pb( adds more easy cals)
- add ice cubes and blend till its the consistancy of an iced cap..
it may take a few tries but once you got it its amazing!

if you think that chocolate protein and coffee is good... give the Isoflex chocolate MINT a try!!
Choco mint + hot coffee = love

choco mint + a shot of expresso + a whackload of icecubes and a bit of water= orgasm

(WARNING some proteins kinda seperate when you mix them with too hot water and taste gross and feel like boogers in your mouth)

One that I like from time to time is if I have chocolate protein powder, I will use a tall glass of milk, 1 banana, heaping tablespoon of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of oats , heaping scoop of protein and 2 tablespoons of instant coffee.

I have heard coffee is a fat storer and also increased muscle pains. Is this true? I ask because I quit caffeine a month ago and really miss it! I was told this by an instructor at a mma school I go to.

Uneducated hearsay.....
1. Fat storage: there are some studies that show a correlation between high daily levels of caffeine and increase of cortisol (stress hormone) which in turn can lead to increase bodyfat..etc----but in this case we're talking about a few cups of coffee a day..moderate usage
2. Muscle Pains: this is a possible dehydration effect of caffeine as many people complain about feeling sore, lethargic when drinking caffeine. Just make sure youre drinking plenty of water and this shouldnt be a problem

thanx for clearing that up. I tried adding a scoop of Isoflex protein to a cup of Startbucks americano and it did not taste very good. I guess if you make the protien thick with milk then add cold coffee it will work better?
