Is anyone going to be attending the Aug 29th London, Ontario powerlifting comp? I am competing, just wondering if there will be any friendly faces there from the board?!

I love that there is a powerlifting/ strongman section now! It's about time!

A bit too far for me, and no one from around here is in it.. plus I'm competing in strongman that weekend.

What are your openers? Goals for the meet? The 2nd meet, I find, goes a lot easier than than the 1st...

I think I'm going to open with a 205lb squat, 90lb bench and maybe a 220 or 225lb deadlift.

I'm hoping for a 220 or 225lb squat with only a belt, 100- 105lb bench, and 240-250lb deadlift. My main goal is to qualify for provincials.

I have definitely learned from my mistakes at the 1st meet with my deadlift and bench, and I think it's going to go alot smoother now that I have my first meet under my belt.

I'm very excited, and can't wait to push myself beyond my "limits"!

Cost: 50$ payable to London Powerlifting Club

Metalchick qualified for the provincials without being a pound off.


The gym it was held at was ****ing awesome. It had more oly bars and squat racks then I have ever seen in a gym. It even had a Reverse hyper, A tlas stones and 2 logs!


I will let her fill in the details though.

Overall, it was a pretty good comp.

I qualified for the provincials with the exact total that I needed.

I was surprised and happy to see alot of raw female lifters in the comp!

Anyway, here are my numbers:
Squat: 90kg, failed twice at 95kg :( These are the first squats I have ever failed!

Bench: 42.5 kg

Deadlift: 105kg, went for 112.5kg, a +7lb pr, but didn't get it!

Total: 237.5 kg
