I underwent a bit of a similar situation last year while visiting my parents, which I do do often.

I had come home it was around 6AM--my car is always brand new looking, extremely clean....I came back out at 10AM--only 4 hours later for Gods sakes.
SOME ****er put two key scratches from one bumper all the way to the front bumper!! WTF!!


I was so jacked up last year too...I went and knocked on all doors, made sure people knew that I KNEW the time that it was done at, and that MY eyes were watching out....that there would be consequences to the damage.
My traps were full of veins I was so angry.

I called out a guy who I thought had done it, because he is a jealous punk ass...but not once did he break in front of me...his eyes, body language stood still....I know he did it.

No repercussions were taken since I did not have fluent prove of his doings.

Damage to private property.
Damage to women and children
Bullying of somebody less fortunate

are probably the only two things in this world, that could make me go blind from anger.
It's always been like that.

I know how you feel...you're probably shaking from anger, and your stomach has a knot in it...

Try to just move on from it....it probably was not a targeted attack, and most likely was a random.

I do not know if you live in a decent area or not...nothing you can do now, but to fix it, and keep going

I think we've all experienced this at some point. I remember I drove my corvette to work last summer which is in a ghetto area so I figure I'd bring it in the shop with me to be safe. So I'm walking to the lunch room and a rock goes skipping by I'm like WTF? Some punk ass 14yo's decided to throw rocks at it through the bay door and use it for target practice. Luckily they didn't have the distance to hit it. Needless to say I ****ing flipped out. Their lucky the gate was locked I couldn't get at them otherwise I would ripped their heads off.

I know it wasn't targeted. I live in a commercial/downtown (if you can call it that) area.
