Hey guys,

I've just started a cycle of Purple K creatine and I've noticed I'm starting to get acne all over the place ... I haven't had acne for about 4 years and now I have pimples on my face, chest, and back. After 3 days of using Purple K I'm breaking out all over.

I'm definitely upping my water intake but I can't think of why this is happening, and I'm doubting if it's worth it.

Thanks,
- M

Have you ever taken creatine before?

Hmm, that's strange. I've never had problems with acne and creatine before. When I was 18 and working out, I started breaking out bad, around the same time I started taking creatine monohydrate, but I didn't think it was the creatine that did it.

I wish I had an explanation for this, but when I was selling supps, I had some people tell me this as well. I even have a friend who told me that creatine makes him aggressive. He even struck his father once while on it. Meanwhile he can pin 1200mg of test with 600mg of deca and be super laid back. So I have no clue why this is happening to you.

lol well hopefully puberty is over for me (22) ... only thing I can think off is that I'm working harder thus releasing more hormones but that's an amazingly long shot.

I'm downing about 6L of water a day ..

None of the compounds in Purple K should be cause your acne, have you been changing anything else? Soaps, Detergents, even Diet can play a major role.

Nope the only thing I've done was stop taking Glutamine because it negates the effects of creatine

No? I did some research into some journals and they seemed to conclude that creatine and glutamine used common receptors thus fighting against each other (was research from mid ninties) and only one would essentially dominate. Could be wrong of course, but it would certainly be nice to actually used that bottle of Glutamine rather than it sit in my fridge.

I've read this as well and it comes down to basically a matter of opinion. On another board a couple years back people posted study after study both going against the other. Personally I see no harm in taking them both at the same time. My reasoning is Creatine does not work on receptors it is broken down by enzymatic activity of creatine kinase which is used to re synthesize ATP (ADP + Pi = ATP). Creatine and Glutamine use sodium transporters but do NOT compete for cellular uptake.
