JUST AN IDEA?

I've been on boards before where you could only look at so much or for so long before it would not let you beable to see the the forums without signing up as a new member

and it would reset daily so everyday you could get a taste but it would cut you off so you'd need to sign up




seems like there is always hundereds more here as lurkers then members!!

again just an idea
it may run off some potental member but it may also encourage people to get involved!

I've only seen that implemented on forums where you need to pay for a membership and then I would sooner search elsewhere. But since this is a free board it might be something to look into. Maybe something like after they look through a few pages, automatically direct them to a sign up page where it says "Hey, like CBB? Become a member for free!".

But I would still include the option to skip registration and keep reading, this site doesn't need members who don't actually want to be members. Right?

the option to continue is a good idea


some people come here and read enjoy what there reading then would respond but dont want to sign up cuz there "busy" so this could have them sign up continue to read and "now" have the option to contribute! and respond!

Yea sorry i was way off lol.
But doesn't revenue come solely from ads (viewed on top)? Those ads are just payperclick/view no? Membership wouldn't affect those yea? I guess there are other revenue streams?

those ads r the forums sponsors and they have reps who particapate on this forum giving the new mwmbwes the option of learning about products and deals and such through these people

also the longer someone sticks around since they are members the chance those people will partake in the deals and advantages of going through the sponsors via this forum increases! lol maybe i dont know like i said
