Anyone know of any supps/foods that help reduce lactic acid buildup in the muscles?

Baking soda???? Never tried it but I heard it helps. I would think heat and deep muscle massage would be better.

Beta-alanine.

Admittedly, I would take about 5g of Dicreatine Malate, 3g of Citrulline Malate, and 2-3g of Beta-alanine pre-workout and it was quite remarkable. I've taken the creatine before and citrulline is in the same catagory, so I knew what to expect. The beta-alanine was uncanny. I did experience a 'tingling' under my skin (though nothing compared to what others who've used more have experienced). When I'd gone through a period of time to adjust, I would be able to workout until temporary failure without the 'burn' coming on. I just simply could do the work and then suddenly couldn't, there was very little in-between fatigue.

Obviously, some researching would be a good idea.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Tried Cissus once and was more impressed with it then the citrullate. Stuff works.

Its TOUGH to take baking soda and not puke it up immediately. Personally, Id just use progressive training if lactic acid is bothering you.

Why are you looking to block the lactic acid? For more reps, or are you an athlete who doesnt want to gas during a game/match/event?

I found that combination to work really well. I noticed a significant difference in my training when I used it. My quantities used were a bit on the conservative side, since I'm cheap and I ordered it in bulk from the states (I just ordered enough to give it a try but ordering more would take weeks). When I'm back to 'building' instead of 'leaning out', then I'm definitely ordering more. And no, I don't work for any supplement company..lol

I've heard, though not experienced myself, that when you use higher doses of beta-alanine, the 'tingling' under the skin is more profound. The amount I use isn't uncomfortable and makes me feel like I've put on a fairly mild amount of that 'tingling' stuff used for tanning beds or that I'm in the last stages of the pins and needles you get when you sleep on an arm (though this is more of an almost whole body just-under-the-skin feeling). In all likelihood, it all probably depends on the person and their tolerance(s)..

cool. did you get it from BN?
i am most interested in this for MMA application, a reduction of lactic acid burn and increased endurance would be invaluable.

No, got it from Trueprotein. Not sure what BN is? I like the fact that w/ TP they do the customs work in-shop. Shipping is horrible but to be expected. Larger orders make it more worthwhile but then you're looking at overall cost.. Now it sounds like I'm doing an ad for them..lol.

Too bad there wasn't a place in Canada that sold anything and everything relating to supplements in bulk quantities for an excellent price and gave free shipping over a certain $$$ amount (or a small fee under that amount). I know there's a couple guys who sell some items on the boards but nothing on a 'big' scale.

I know Superior Nutraceuticals has it and they were offering Canuks deals last time I ordered. I've never been disappointed by them.
