Interested what people think of this video or the issues being discussed in general. It mostly focuses around The Hells Angels.

just finished watching, i think its a verry good piece with good interviews and good points but theres always more than one viewpoint, sure the hells angels are known because they put themselves out there but theirs huge crime problems with all these smaller gangs in Vancouver now.. link them to who you will but there all accountable for there own actions.. i know people who have been stabbed at a party for 10 dollars just because some " gang member " thought he was tough.

^^^ I have a hard time believing a guy will stab someone for $10. Also think if the gang member`s higher ups learn of his behavior, he won`t be very "active" in that gang for long. They don`t need stupid press such as a guy stabbing some nobody for no reason...

what it came down to is people who affiliate themselves with people who know people who know the higher ups think that somehow they themselves are untouchable it was at a house party and the guy was obviously putting on a show for all his peers nobody died but there was a stabbing over 10 bucks.. theirs allot of groups in Vancouver of high school aged kids who push drugs for some guy who gets them from a bigger source kinda thing leaving these kids to feel like they run shit. last week a man was stabbed in the heart while trying to keep his kid from getting jumped by two other kids.. last time i heard they had one 13 year old boy in custody and where searching for the other.

That's the thing, gangs aren't as structured as before. The old mafia type is still around, but very less involved in the "lower" activities. The drug production and higher distribution chain is very well organized, but the low dealers aren't their concerns, they just sell to whoever wants to buy it and resell it. The lower chains, instead of answering to the head of organized crime, is just part of a neighborhood gang. That's where the problem is. Those people can kill each other, no one will tell them otherwise, since they're not affiliated, they're just dealers. I think organized crime is somewhat necessary, to keep these smaller gangs at bay. Bigger organizations seem to be more careful around issues like murders of innocents, for a reason; the police didn't care about the hells angel at all before they killed a kid.

People stab each other for no reason so why not do it for 10 bones?

Some of the lower level gangs that have no recognition do it for exactly that reason, to get known. If no one knows who you are then there is no one to fear.

blaming an RS hit on the HA? that's a bit of a stretch.

there is a huge problem no doubt. something needs to be done.

and in the comments some asked would the HA exist if drugs were legalized?

hmmmm....maybe ask these guys...
