For some, creatine can be like broken glass in the intestines. Creatine monohydrate is creatine in its purest form, should be mixed in semi-hot water till its completly blended like a suspension. If it is fully dissolved then it can be absorbed into the system without converting into CREATININE, creatines by-product, which bloats you and gives you the shits and farts. Even then some peoples bodies still can't absorb creatine monohydrate, so there are other forms such as creatine AKG, ethel-ester, and my personal favorite-Kre-alklyn. Buffered creatine matches your stomach's ph balance and can be FULLY absorbed without a week loading phase and almost immediate results the next workout. IMO, Kre-Alklyn is the only way to go, and should be a big part of a main foundation of supplements in any BBer's arsenal.

Muscleshark,
Goodpost. I've yet to try Creatine as Kre-Alklyn. How does it compare cost wise? As you stated, it is readily absorbed by the body-without upset-within a week. CEE, I've never tried to be honest.
I just got used to Creatine Monohydrate and have stuck with it ever since.
You are 100% correct about mixing it with warm water.

Cost is roughly the same. I really havent calculated, I was instantly hooked after the first two days of use and havent looked back ever since. Well worth its wieght in gold as far as i'm concerned.

kre-alkalyn creatine is much more expensive then mono hydrate! a ble of 100caps of kre-alk.is around 30$ and a 1000gr. or monohydrate is around 25$ depend how much you take but still cheaper!!

Remember absorption rate of regular creatine monohydrate is roughly 8 to 10 percent of intake, the rest of the 80% goes to waste or converts to creatinine. You absorb ALL of the kre-alklyn in one intake. Do the math. Now which is the better bang for the buck?

if you take 2 pills twice a day lets says purple k and there is a 100caps you got 25 days supply for 30$.and for c.monohydrate lets says ultimate nutrition you got 1000gr. lets days 3 times a days=15gr so you have 66 days supply maybe the ratio of the absorptionis higher with purple k but on long run i think you will get the same result for cheaper but you you will produce much more creatinine with monohydrate but nothing is perfect!:)

If your on the juice don't take creatine. It's a waste of money IMO, most of the supplements out there are.

Creatine works for some, others no so much. For me, I get better pumps at the gym while I supp it. I like celltech from muscletech alot, hooked on the grape flavoured one.

I've only tried the creatine monohydrate. It definitely gives me added stomach problems if I consume too much. I used to take it to the gym and mix it with water and sugar there, and drink it right after a workout. I think its a slight boost when you need it off cycle. I did however have to quit taking it because it screwed up a kidney test for creatinine clearance. I have elevated creatinine levels as do most who carry more than average muscle mass.

Is it hazardous in any way to take mono and kre-alkalyn at the same time? Is this a waste of time?

I take/took dicreatine malate (and citrulline malate mixed in as well) and noticed a VAST improvement over CM and CEE. I think there may even be one or two other formulas now available.

This is the best supplementation if you aks me. I recommend taking 5g to 10g of creatine monohydrate, half before and half after your workout. Creatine monohydrate is the least expensive form of the supplement and is 90 percent absorbable. I increased my strength and muscle mass due to increased exercise intensity; this is facilitated by the Creatine supplementation. Increased muscle mass and strength are unlikely to occur with out an increase in training intensity. However, some research has started to show a protein synthesising effect of Creatine supplementation in vitro.

Creatine monohydrate (Creapure brand) taken 5g in the morning and 5g post training is optimal(both times of increased insulin sensitivity). No loading phase is necessary. Creatine does mainly two things...increases cell volumization and increase CP stores thus leading to higher available ATP. Cell volumization increases overall leverages equating to more strength as well as increased levels of nutrients inside the cell. Increased ATP equates to more intense training and increased intensity over time...leading to more muscle development. Stick to Creapure and mix completely with water to avoid stomach issues.
